Revere Maxx-Fishing introduces six new frog lure models

Friday, June 25th, 2010 by ttnews

Since the introduction of the Maxx-Rev Hard Body Frog lure in 2007, anglers from all walks of life have looked to Revere Maxx-Fishing, LLC, for the latest in innovative designs and commitment to quality to build the best hard body frog lures on the market. With the introduction of the Maxx-Rev lure, it gave anglers a new way to fish. And the rest of the Revere Maxx-Fishing line-up fell in place.

2009 gave way to the Maxx-Pop Hard Body Frog Surface Popper with the action of a struggling frog attempting to make its way to shore. Twitch the Popper and it projects sound waves through the water like a frog’s feet striking the surface. The Rex-Rip Hard Body Weedless sinking frog can be fished at any depth of the water column for those suspending fish or can just be dragged across the bottom to simulate the action of an actual frog digging.

Now for 2010, Revere Maxx-Fishing brings an amazing line-up to the angler with six of the most innovative Hard Body Frog lures:
First, the Rock Star Frog with a buzz bait-sounding prop.
Second, the Rex-Rip FW Hard Body Floating Weedless with the same 4/0 independent hooks for maximum penetration like the sinking model.
Third, the Maxx-Pop JP, a version of the original Popper but with jointed legs to guide it though the water.
Fourth, the Maxx-Rev DT, a diving frog that while trolling can reach 24-28-feet under the water.
Fifth, the Fat-Maxx Prop with a fatter body which means BIGGER fish.
Sixth, the Fat-Maxx Tri Prop, a Hard Body Frog with a triple propeller with the most action you’ll ever see on top of the water.
These frogs are truly the most realistic frog lures on the market with a price that any angler can afford.

New YUM F2 (Ferocity Squared) Baits

Friday, February 19th, 2010 by ttnews

YUM Soft Plastics announces the introduction of F2, independently tested to be 30 percent more effective than the leading attractant. Six bait styles are infused with this powerful scent, and unlike other attractant-injected baits, YUM F2 retains its suppleness and “swimability.” They also don’t dry into hard, wrinkled and useless shrivels when left out of the package.

Attract. Enrage. Engage. F2, or Ferocity Squared, is a highly concentrated formula clinically tested by the Mississippi State University under the strictest scientific conditions. The result is documented proof that bass prefer YUM F2 by 30 percent. Additional advantages include its ability to be infused in traditional soft plastics in any shape, long-lasting effectiveness and continuous dispersal of scent.

YUM F2 is initially available in four new bait styles and two existing YUM baits. The new baits include the Wooly Bullee, a flippin’ style bait; the Mighty Bug, a six-legged creature bait in three sizes; the Sallee-mander, a 6-inch swimming lizard; and the Shakealicious Worm, a 6-inch shaky head worm with an undulating skirt at the head. YUM Dingers and Money Craws also have been infused with F2.

YUM F2 just took over the top spot in bass attractants. It’s documented. It’s been proven in the strictest clinical scientific testing. Bass prefer F2. It’s the most-effective attractant on the market. Look for F2 taking over your local tackle shop or at www.lurenet.com.

Sebile Flatt Shad takes no lip approach

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 by ttnews

The Sebile Flatt Shad is vibrating up a storm of activity in both the fresh and saltwater fishing worlds. Word of their effectiveness for tournament and recreational anglers around the globe has started a feeding frenzy of its own.

Among recent additions to the Flatt Shad lipless bait lineup are the new, extra-heavy sinking version of the popular all-around-size model 66, and two brand new and bigger sizes, models 96 and 124.

The Flatt Shad model 66 XH-SK, measuring just under 3 inches, weighs in at 3/4 ounce, and that’s a full quarter-ounce more than its 1/2-ounce brother, the 66 SK (sinking). It casts like a rocket, runs perfectly true and stays upright on the fall.

New Flatt Shad model 96 is a 4-inch bait that comes in both sinking (SK) and extra-heavy sinking (XH-SK) versions. The SK version weighs 1-3/8 ounces and the XH-SK model weighs 2-1/8 ounces.

The largest of the Flatt Shads, model 124, is 5 inches in overall length. It, too, comes in the sinking (SK) version, weighing 2-1/2 ounces, and the extra-heaving sinking (XH-SK) model that weighs-in at 3-3/4 ounces.

All Flatt Shad models have a high-backed shape just like the favorite shad baitfish found in many waters, and their rounded profile produces excited, hyperactive movements for a unique, wicked swimming action. They can be worked horizontally with a direct retrieve, vertically jigged, or cast long distances in open water. The Flatt Shad’s design also allows them to come through cover better than other rattling, vibrating-style lures of this type.

The newest Flatt Shads come in a variety of Sebile color options including Evidence, Blood Red and the innovative new InSight 3D saltwater colors, depending on models. Visit SebileUSA.com.

Jewel’s The Rock rolls over standard sinkers

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 by ttnews

New from Jewel Bait Company, The Rock is the perfect cross between a traditional worm sinker and the popular football jig, getting the very best traits of both items. It has a hole entirely through it just like any slip sinker does, but its football shape makes it look so different. And different it is.

The Rock has an angled hole and specialized surfaces to allow for two different rigging options. Run the line through the sinker in the direction that puts the weight’s flat surface on the underside and The Rock will roll and tumble over rocks and other obstacles like nothing else can.

Reverse the line direction so the sinker’s “shovel” side faces forward and The Rock stirs up the bottom when fishing irregular areas of sand, clay, pea gravel, etc. The versatility means that the Rock Rig is the ideal single solution for both Texas rigging and Carolina rigging.

“Who would have ever imagined that something as simple as a fishing sinker was going to benefit from computer-design technology using the principles of physics and mathematical calculations,” said Gayle Julian, Jewel founder and president. “The Rock still has the same ol’ job of getting a bait down to structure, but once there it truly becomes a fishing tool for today’s modern anglers.”

The Rock is available in 1/2 and 3/4 ounce sizes and is unpainted.  The 1/2-ounce size is sold four per pack, and the 3/4 ounce comes three per package. Visit JewelBait.com.

Larew Says Bug Infestation is a Good Thing

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 by ttnews

The new Gene Larew® Biffle Bug, in the Tommy Biffle Signature Series, is a combination stride or glide bait in a compact 4.25″ design. The body is slim yet wide, and covered with concentric “ridges” spaced evenly from its nose to where the tail starts. The first 3/4-inch of its 3-inch body length is solid for hook support, while the rest of it is hollow like a tube, borrowing a feature from the Biffle-O (patent pending) family.

The body cavity is oval to better hold a round rattle in place simply through natural compression. It works with most rattle styles and makes for an extra-loud sound chamber. Compressed foam and/or scent can also be added to the bug’s cavity.

The body has tentacles on each side, plus hyperactive swimming legs. These legs come from the Biffle-O Lizard and come alive with the slightest movement. Equally unique is the Biffle Bug’s tail. It is a thin, flexible tail configuration that is convex on the backside and cupped underneath. By design, the tail is wide at its base and tapers slowly over its 2 1/4-inch tail length to a rounded tip. The tail is always “breathing,” even at rest, and offers both form and function to every fishing technique imaginable.

With legs on, the Biffle Bug is the perfect swimming bait. It can be fished alone, used on a jighead, or serve as a trailer. It is also an excellent Carolina-rig bait, especially when a small piece of foam flotation is inserted into its body cavity.

Pinch the legs off and the Biffle Bug becomes the perfect glide bait. The cupped tail provides unmatched action to the lure’s descent. Biffle Bugs are packaged eight per resealable pack. Visit GeneLarewLures.com.

Plano and Hank Parker Team Up In Gear Organization

Monday, February 15th, 2010 by ttnews

Hank Parker and Plano have enjoyed a relationship together for over 20 years. When the company asked the popular television show fishing host to design an organization system that takes all the things he wanted on the boat, and in a bag  … the end result is the FTO Elite Hank Parker Signature Series tackle bag.

The Hank Parker bags are feature rich. Rubberized non-slip bases keep the bag dry and prevent sliding around on the boat. Three protective structured pockets were designed to hold sunglasses, cell phones and cameras. There’s even a special pocket for lip balm for those long days in the sun, a personal request from Parker himself. Integrated tool and towel holders on either end keep the most often needed supplies on standby for quick and easy access. Additionally there is a rear zippered compartment with large mesh pockets inside that are perfect for holding packages of softbaits.

The 4826 Hank Parker Signature Series tackle bag includes four 3600 series StowAway® utility boxes and has an overall measurement of 18″L x 13″W x 11″H.

The 4827 Hank Parker Signature Series tackle bag includes four 3700 series StowAway utility boxes and measures 20″L x 14″W x 11.5″H.

Sebile® Crankster SR – Shallow cranking

Monday, February 15th, 2010 by ttnews

The full-figured Sebile Crankster has been making lots of noise of late, but as an old rock song says best, “you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

Joining the round-bellied Crankster family is a brand new SR “Shallow Runner” design represented by two models, SR 50 and SR 65. The numerical designations refer to lengths in millimeters, which means the two baits measure approximately 2 inches and 2.5 inches, respectively. Ironically, and amazingly, that’s also about how deep the two baits run, thus the Shallow Runner designation.

The Crankster SR can be waked on top, “bulged” just under the surface, or made to run 3-5 inches below just by the angler holding the rod tip up, down or somewhere in between. That means these shallow runners are perfect for swimming over the top of grass with the rod held high and then dropping the tip to fish the pockets and holes around the patches.

The Crankster SR 50 and SR 65 are available in six colorful finishes: Sea Chrome, Bass, Light Violet, Holo Gold/Black, Natural Mullet and Hot Yellow/Chartreuse. Visit Sebile.com.

The Larew® HooDaddy

Sunday, February 14th, 2010 by ttnews

The Gene Larew HooDaddy has found its way back into the top spot in tackleboxes across the country, mostly because scores of anglers are rediscovering the bait as one of the best big bass baits around. With the re-found popularity come six new colors to both the 6″ HooDaddy and the 4.5″ HooDaddy Jr.

All of the new colors are two-color laminates, including blackberry/sapphire, green pumpkin/Christmas tree, green pumpkin candy, dark watermelon candy, smoke neon/pumpkin pepper neon and dark watermelon neon/watermelon neon. The “neon” designation means the color includes red metalflake.

Both HooDaddy sizes feature concentric rings throughout their body lengths. The rings not only give the baits action and “noise” when making friction contact with underwater obstacles, they also boost the fish-hooking percentage. That’s because the hook’s point is brought all the way through the body and retained in the rings instead of the body, keeping it weedless but with less plastic to penetrate on a strike. All 35 colors of HooDaddys are manufactured in the company’s Tulsa, Okla. injection molding facility. Visit GeneLarewLures.com.

Sebile® Spin Shad ready for a spin

Saturday, February 13th, 2010 by ttnews

The Sebile Spin Shad was named “Best New Hard Lure” of ICAST 2009. The new bait is the ultimate tail spinner, featuring heavy metal alloy Bismuth inside a molded baitfish-shaped body with intricate attention to detail. On the tail end and affixed to an inline swivel is the unique Sebile Shad Blade. The Shad Blade is a lure in itself, with a wide front, narrow tail and slightly cupped backside to allow it to turn at any retrieve speed from ultra slow to super fast.

SpinShad.jpg

The Spin Shad’s main treble hook is strategically positioned behind the widest part of the bait’s belly to benefit from the body’s protective deflection in and around cover. It can be made even more snagless by clipping the lowest hook from the treble, leaving the other two pointing upward and being even more protected by the body. The bait’s perfect balance and split ring positioning affords vibration and flash on the fall and during retrieve. It is available in 3/4 ounce and 1 1/4 ounce sizes. Visit SebileUSA.com.

Larew® 12″ El Salto Worm

Saturday, February 13th, 2010 by ttnews

Where’s the beef? In the Larew® 12″ El Salto Worm
The Gene Larew El Salto Grande 12-inch worm has been beefed up in response to anglers’ wishes and the new diameter is definitely A+ worthy. Its diameter has been increased by about 15 percent and the beefed-up body is a good look to go along with its long and fleshy tail, which remained unchanged.

The El Salto Grande is available in 13 colors, many unique to the soft plastics category, including Montezuma’s Revenge, Margarita on the Rocks, and Siesta Buster. True to its Mexican-namesake heritage, the big worm has been hot for big bass over the last two weeks on the Mexico-Texas border lake – Lake Falcon. Texas guide Dannie Golden caught two fish around the 11-pound mark in recent days.

Jewel® Swim Gem is a gem dandy

Saturday, February 13th, 2010 by ttnews

The brand new Jewel Swim Gem swimbait jighead eliminates several problems common when rigging and fishing soft swimbaits. Its unique boomerang-shaped head envelops the bait’s nose to make head and bait come together as one in a realistic looking, streamlined baitfish appearance.

SwimGem.jpg

The lower half of the boomerang is slightly longer than the top and distributes the weight to under the swimbait’s nose.  Doing so keeps the bait upright on the fall with the hook always properly positioned, while also providing stability so the bait doesn’t roll during retrieve.

The upper half of the head provides weight and balance. Together the top and bottom form the ultimate swimbait head, meaning that Swim Gem-rigged lures can be slow rolled or burned, and even utilized as effective bed fishing lures. Also unique is Jewel’s proprietary “J Lock” bait keeper system.  The J Lock securely holds soft plastic in place by piercing through the top of the swimbait and then clipping onto the hook’s shank.  This prevents the nose of the swimbait from being torn after several bites and does not interfere with hook setting.  A tough powder coat paint finish keeps the head looking good for catch after catch. “The Rock” Multi-purpose Sinkers

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 by ttnews

While any mention of the “The Rock” is likely to conjure up different images among football aficionados than it does from anglers, the reference is still probably going to bring smiles to the faces of both.

Therefore, it seems only appropriate that Jewel has named its new lead fishing sinker “The Rock,” because this most innovative fishing weight design ever borrows its heritage from both sports.

The Rock is the perfect cross between a traditional worm sinker and the popular football jig, getting the very best traits of both items. It looks like a football head, but it has a hole entirely through it just like any slip sinker does. All similarities to previous fishing weights stop there.

For starters, The Rock has an angled hole and specialized surfaces to allow for two different rigging options. Run the line through the sinker in the direction that puts the weight’s flat surface on the underside and The Rock will roll and tumble over rocks and other obstacles like nothing else.

Ice Fishing Lures Resonates with Sonar

Friday, October 2nd, 2009 by ttnews
No single tool has been more instrumental in creating a new generation of highly skilled ice anglers than the portable flasher-sonar unit. Ice fishing with a flasher remains the ultimate in visual, hands-on fishing. You see the depth along with the lake bottom; you see your lure in context; and eventually, you see the fish as they respond to your presentation— like a sight-fishing video game.

Like any pursuit, however, advancing the skill level of ice fishing’s practitioners requires new technologies—better tools for improving efficiency in the field.  Thanks to industry-leading sonar engineers, such a technology has emerged.
Last winter, a core group of ice insiders were chosen to quietly test the final versions of a truly unique new category of ice lure. The results were groundbreaking. The concept— a true first for the fishing industry— is a lure specifically engineered to be fished in tandem with a sonar unit; a “sonar-friendly” ice fishing jig that bounces back a solid, well-defined signal to the transducer.
Fittingly, as it turned out, the concept for the new Northland Fishing Tackle Hexi Fly had long resided within the minds of two of North America’s brightest sonar designers. Duane Cummings and Ray Marzean, military trained engineers who developed flasher-sonar products for MarCum Technologies, began cultivating their lure idea over three years ago.
“When engineers designed the first concave satellite dishes,” explains Cummings, “They drew on the precepts of antenna theory to build a reflective surface that most efficiently gathered electromagnetic waves. Essentially, we used these same concepts while engineering the Hexi Fly.

“Using a design model called Quarter Wave Technology, we knew that to get maximum target return from a small ice jig, we’d need to give it a reflective surface that matched the transmit frequency of most flasher-sonar units. Anglers who used the Hexi Fly last winter immediately noticed its flat, slightly concave body, which resembled a satellite dish. This was, of course, no accident. We created the lure with a reflective surface and shape that sonar really likes—it actually pings the transducer with twice the signal strength of similar sized jigs.”

Benefits for the angler, MarCum engineer Cummings reports, include the ability to maximize flasher performance on ice, or other vertical fishing situations. “Because this jig bounces back such a strong return signal, you’re able to tune down the gain on a unit like a MarCum LX-5 and still clearly read the bait,” he says. “A reduced gain setting yields better target separation, improved IR (interference rejection) performance, and the ability to filter out dense vegetation or other cover without losing sight of your jig within a cluster of signals.

Beyond its practical applications with sonar, however, the most important question remained: What do the fish think?

“The special body shape of the Hexi Fly also yielded an appealing swimming action,” Cummings adds. “It really flutters on the fall, and wobbles and glides off to the side of the hole when it’s jigged. And when you dress it with a small softbait, and give it tiny rodtip quivers, it’s got this sweet-looking cam-rocking action. It’s a remarkable combination in a lure—something quite unique in the fishing world. Used with a well-tuned sonar-unit, like the MarCum LX-5, I think fishermen are going to like what they see.”

Frabill’s new rod and reel combos showcase ice fishing’s dream team

Thursday, August 20th, 2009 by ttnews

“Alongside the Bro Series, Ice Hunter is the most comprehensive series of ice rod actions ever developed,” stated Frabill Marketing V.P., Jeff Kolodzinski.” These are technique focused rod and reel combos; each precision application designed to target individual species. To do this, we collaborated with top guides and anglers who ice fish world renowned waters.

“In designing these combos, we didn’t ask a walleye expert for input on a panfish combo, or vice versa,” states Kolodzinski. “To assemble a premium bluegill combo, for example, we called on Walt and Poppie Mattan, famed creators of the Rat Finkee jig. Their combined experience with big ‘gills is legendary. And we think the 26-inch Quick Tip Bluegill combo hits the sweet spot for fishing micro ice plastics.”

Along these same lines, there’s the 22-inch Quick-Tip Crappie, created by Scott Glorvigen, a professional angler renowned for his prowess with trophy black crappies. The rod’s Quick-Tip is a perfect match for microlight jigs and finicky-biting panfish.

Then there’s the 24-inch Finesse Perch rod, drafted by Hall of Famer Tom Neustrom, who tracks perch schools in Minnesota’s famed lakes Leech and Winnibigoshish. Similarly, for a Perch/Finesse Walleye stick, Devils Lake, North Dakota guide Jason Feldner was a logical choice. And crafting Ice Hunter’s walleye/pike combos — 26-inch medium Deep Water Walleye and 32-inch medium heavy Trophy Walleye/Pike Jigging models — were veteran guides Dale Stroschein and Paul Nelson, respectively.

On the predator front, Great Lakes guide Captain Eric Haataja created a 38-inch Trout/Heavy Jigging combo. This choice rod sports a custom glass Quick-Tip that absorbs the shock of powerful predators. “This is the finest combo out there. It meets the needs of anglers from Rocky Mountain reservoirs to the Great Lakes,” says Haataja.

Besides Haataja’s Trout combo, which features glass, each of the other six rods are founded on solid graphite blanks adorned with stainless steel ice guides to prevent freezing. For handles, Frabill incorporated high-grade tapered custom cork, which provides warmth, ergonomic comfort and precision control over any presentation.
Unlike many companies that scrimp on the reel, Frabill took its characteristic high road, incorporating first-rate features that perform optimally in extreme cold. Infinite anti-reverse, multi-disc, front load drag, and three plus one ball-bearings ensure liquid smooth operation. Each reel also includes a machined-aluminum spool, and is injected with special Sub-Zero™ lubricant for seamless operation in the coldest temperatures. This winter, Ice Hunter offers anglers everywhere the rare privilege of mingling with ice fishing’s dream team.

Rapala Introduces the New MaxRap 13

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 by ttnews

Conditions are never climate controlled when you’re out there after fish. Wind, spray, and the bobbing platform of a boat can all contribute to falling short when you try to make that long cast. It’s about covering water… but covering water with the wounded minnow performance of a Rapala… that’s what it’s all about.

Shallow flats can spread out for miles. And when you’re standing on shore, or up to your armpits wearing waders, casting distance is the difference between success and failure.

Say hello to your new long distance buddy – MaxRap™ 13.

Long and lean in all the right color schemes, measuring 5 1/4 inches long. First thing you’ll notice is the slightly arched back. You’ll see it’s all Rapala, with fine details like oversized holographic eyes and internal, laser-engraved scales to go with a baitfish-inspired paint job.

Its razor sharp, noncorrosive VMC Spark Point treble hooks are a thing of beauty, too. They stand up to saltwater and downright nasty predator fish.

Hold it in your hands and the heft is obvious, a full half-ounce of perfectly-balanced proportions. Put it on the end of your line and cast as hard as you can and the balance is so pure that it zings like a perfect spiral. No wobbling, no tangling of hooks. It holds its position in the air thanks to the internal MaxCast mechanism, precision placed tungsten balls that provide self-adjusting balance under changing conditions.

Start reeling and you’re reminded that there’s only one Rapala. Crank it steady, fast as you want, or twitch-and-pause and watch it reflect light like the real thing (if you can see that far). When a fish crushes it, you’ll know you have a new partner in crime.

Whatever you want to catch, in freshwater or saltwater, big, bad fish fall for the flash and foil of MaxRap™. Shallow water fish have nowhere to hide. They can’t get far enough away. Great Trolling Lure, Too…

Something this good cannot be typecast for casting alone. It’s an awesome trolling bait, too. Run it steady or pump the rod, but hang on at all times, because you’re gonna get bit. To cover the water column from just under the surface to inky depths, use whatever weighting system you like best. Try rubber-core sinkers, snap weights, leadcore, planing devices, or pull it behind a downrigger ball.

Jewel and anglers benefit from Mustad process

Friday, July 31st, 2009 by ttnews

Jewel Bait Co. is the first fishing tackle manufacturer to take advantage of a new Alpha Code standardization process implemented by O. Mustad & Son A.S., the world’s largest hook manufacturer. Jewel president Gayle Julian says the trial run was perfect and that all their customers will benefit from a better product as a result.

“It’s only human nature to try something for the first time with reserve and skepticism,” Julian said. “But we just got our first run of Mustad test hooks made according to the procedure and they fit our mold perfectly. That’s really special because we built our precision aluminum mold in advance using only their Alpha system information. What we got was a hook built to our highest specs for style, size, strength and sharpness that fit our tight-tolerance mold exactly; what fishermen get is a better Jewel jig head.”

KG Enterprise, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, is the affiliated manufacturer for Jewel products and is known for its precision engineering of quality lead-cast products. Unlike most who work with lead, KG uses only self-made CNC-machined molds that aren’t as forgiving as the popular silicone molds. That leaves no room for error in mold design, and the end result is a higher quality product.

The inaugural effort for the Mustad Alpha system involved a totally new hook design for a brand new Jewel jig. The same hook is also being used for Jewel’s new “Squirrel Head” shaky head jig as part of the Jeff Kriet signature series.

“This hook didn’t even exist before we had a fully finished mold waiting for its arrival,” Julian added. “We couldn’t be happier with what Mustad delivered. We’re believers in this being a better mouse trap.”

Mustad officials say it was Geir Sivertzen, their global products manager from company headquarters in Norway, who recognized the need for consistent hook proportions six years ago while developing the world’s first and only proportionally correct fly hooks known as the Signature Series.

“Geir visited manufacturers in the United States and analyzed the production process,” explained Harry Simmons, Mustad’s North American OEM accounts manager. “He returned home frustrated that companies were using ‘available hooks’ instead of proportionally correct hooks that accurately fit the molds. By implementing the Alpha Code system, we can now produce jig hooks that will accurately and consistently fit the production molds.

“Mustad is the only hook manufacturer that draws its own wire, and each of our hooks has its own unique wire diameter,” Simmons continued. “Controlling this process allows us to use a proprietary blend of high carbon steel and draw it down at slower speeds to greatly reduce the possibility of stress cracks in the steel’s surface. No other hook manufacturer is doing this.  Product standardization is a huge competitive advantage for Mustad and our OEMs.”

Simmons went on to say that everything in the hook making process benefits from the Alpha system, including tempering, forging, finishes and sharpening. He says that’s why Mustad gets high marks for quality, as symbolized by the brand’s popular Ultra Point range featuring a proprietary mathematical sharpening process known as “4.3 Technology.”

“Mustad’s Alpha Code system and 4.3 Technology have made us a better company,” Julian reinforced. “We’re now enabled to build the finest Jewel products ever, and that simply reinforces what has always been our driving force … the pursuit of excellence in products and customer satisfaction.

Designed to have increased “flickr” action as it falls to help entice the big fish to eat.  The unique Rage Tail Flange design is incorporated into the tail to give this monster of a worm it’s unique action. The Tail incorporates a score line that can be cut to turn the Thumper worm into a true cut tail worm.

Available in late summer, the Thumper worm will be offered in the following colors:

Plum

Watermelon Red Flake

New Jig Shakes It’s Tail & Kicks Bass

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 by ttnews

The legendary JUNGLE JIG® product line from Northland Fishing Tackle welcomes a new family member to its popular line of weedless jigs for 2009 … called the JUNGLE SHAKE-E-BALL®. The distinctive jig was intelligently engineered for the tournament tested “shaky worm” technique; a proven tactic for lethargic, pressured, and cold front bass.

The JUNGLE SHAKE-E-BALL® is designed with a rockin’ “ball-head”, and features a 60 degree 3/0 Lip-Stick® flat-eye hook for superior hooking performance. The bait-holding Barb-Wire™ worm and grub collar makes rigging effortless and holds plastics securely in place.

This Rigged Jungle Shake-E-Ball® deadly combination works like a fulcrum to “rock and shake” the worm with it’s head down and tail floating up to trigger the bite!

“The JUNGLE SHAKE-E-BALL® is my go-to jig when I need to put fish in the boat during cold fronts and under tough conditions,” says TEAM NORTHLAND™ Bass Pro Jeff Gustafson. “I rig ‘em weedless with a small finesse worm and work it slowly through weeds, brush and boulders. It is a fish-catching-machine that works anywhere in North America,” says the 2008 Kenora Bass Tournament Champion from Kenora, Ontario. “It’s a jungle out there, and this little finesse jig triggers & fools finicky biting smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass when all other techniques fail!”

The JUNGLE SHAKE-E-BALL® is tournament tested and comes in three weights – 3/32, 1/8, & 3/16 oz. – and in two natural fish producing colors to include Bullhead Black and Watermelon Green.
