IFA Redfish Tour 2010 Schedule

By ttnews | November 23rd, 2009

A commitment to offering inshore redfish anglers opportunities for lucrative payouts and low participation costs continues in 2010, evidenced by the IFA Redfish Tour’s recently released 2010 regular-season schedule. The schedule again features 18 regular-season events contested across six different divisions with the tour making stops in some of most famed redfish destinations in the country.

The regular season begins on February 27, 2010, when anglers fishing the Florida East Coast Division converge on Jacksonville, Fla., with the final regular-season event occurring on October 16, 2010, at Orange Beach, Ala., the site of the 2009 IFA Redfish Tour Championship. In all, the 2010 IFA Redfish Tour will come to six states – from Texas to the Carolinas – bringing multiple, close-to-home opportunities for redfish anglers to be a part of a professionally operated tournament without significant investments of time or money normally required when fishing other tours.

Said IFA President Jim Armstrong, “Anglers want to fish and be a part of something fun and lucrative. With one-day tournaments close to home, anglers don’t have to trailer all over the country if they don’t want to do so. Our tournaments continue to be as affordable as they are fun – and best of all, anglers can really cash in on the prize packages and contingencies.”

Each of the 18 regular-season events will commence on Saturday with the newly formed IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing contested the following day (Sundays). In its inaugural season, the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing will feature 18 regular-season, catch-photograph-release events across six different division (mirroring the IFA Redfish Tour format, location and scheduling) as well as extremely lucrative payouts and expanded fishing opportunities for non-motorized fishing crafts.

“The IFA is excited to team with Hobie Fishing in offering a second day of competition,” said Bart Schad of the IFA. “A great number of inshore anglers fish from kayaks and this tournament gives this group a chance to compete in a format custom designed for their tactics.”

The IFA Redfish Tour continues to draw redfish anglers from Texas to the Carolinas and beyond, offering two-angler teams the opportunity to compete in six different divisions, each offering a three-event regular season. Low entry fees for the one-day, regular-season tournaments allows anglers to fish close to home and minimize expenses, while still being a part of a premier inshore, catch-and-release redfish tournament organization.
