I might be getting one of these rods, but I can't find any at the local BPS to look at in person. I can't find any info online about the action of the rods. Are they fast, extra fast, moderate? I'm looking for something to use for senkos and unweighted plastics. I was thinking about the 7' medium. Would that work well?

I had a chance to handle these in the store...comparing model to model, and I have to admit I'm confused by their lure and line ratings. I fish mostly Medium power rods...so Immediately grabbed the 6'3" model..saw the lure rating as 3/8 to 1/2 w/ 10-17LB and rated as medium and then looked at the 6'9" MH with a lure rating of 3/16 to 5/8 and 12-17LB. The 6'9" MH was rated at what I'd expect to see on Medium....but actually felt like a MH rod in my hand. The 6'3" actually felt like a Medium power rod in my hand..but the marked ratings certainly didn't reflect it.

The 6'6' Medium Model showed 1/4-5/8 and 8-15lb rating...which (IMO) is a close to a true Medium power ...however this rod felt stiffer to me than the 6"3" model (with the higher lure and line ratings).

I'd caution anyone considering these rods to handle one before buying. If you go strictly by the rod description to order online..you may get something you won't be entirely happy with.

As far as fit and finish..I think these rods are really nice for the money.

Can't wait to see the next Rod incarnation from Abu. I think they are the right track :-)

The next rod we get will probably be the production or right before production model. And yes, it will be reviewed by the team. =)

Will you guys get your hands on the 2010 Abu prototype for some testing before it's released? A rod with Ti-Sic guides and all that bling for $130....wowser

Haven't fished either one yet but handled both at the show, I prefer the Vendetta.
Maybe the yellow rods are trying to get onto the orange rod bandwagon. =)

I wonder how these compare to the new skeet rods. Both look like quality rods with a custom look for a good price.

These look a bit like the Abu Fantasista rods. Reel nut is a dead ringer for the Fanatsista Yabi. Will have to give these a good look when they come out

Those look great. If they perform as good as they look, I think Pure Fishing may have a money-maker on their hands.
